On Friday 26 March, Barrenjoey Montessori School held its ninth Cinema by the Sea event, screening family film Trolls World Tour. After weeks of anticipation and days of obsessively checking the weather report, Mother Nature put an end to the torrential rain and delivered a gloriously sunny day.
As we waited for the sun to go down, families enjoyed picnics and a chance to catch up, our younger guests revelled in the bubble machine, and the popcorn stall was kept very busy dishing out movie snacks. Guests also purchased handmade jewellery, arts and crafts at the Rad Wombat Society (RWS) fundraising stall held by a group of our Cycle 3 students. The RWS students were delighted to raise over $600 to donate towards the plight of wombats through the Humane International Society.
Once the sun went down and the film began, it was all about comfort. Movie-goers snuggled up in beanbags, blankets, mini-couches and sleeping bags to watch the antics of Poppy and Branch as they worked to unite the six troll music tribes.
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Cinema by the Sea—it was lovely to see many faces from the local community! Thank you also to our Barrenjoey Montessori School community for volunteering their time, efforts and resources to make this much-loved event a success. It was a truly magical evening that captured the essence of the Barrenjoey Montessori community spirit.
