Farewell Fiona

Barrenjoey Montessori principal Fiona Campbell looks on as a student delivers a farewell speech

Last term, the Barrenjoey Montessori School community gathered to farewell principal Fiona Campbell.

In her more than 10 years leading the school, Fiona has been instrumental in growing Barrenjoey Montessori from a small preschool into the thriving community it is today, working with board directors, educators and families to deliver authentic Montessori education to children from birth to 12 years.

Fiona will remain an active member of the Montessori community and the educational landscape, completing a Masters of Educational Neuroscience this year, pursuing her vision to establish Montessori pop-up environments in regional areas, and participating in the Montessori 0–3 certificate course. Fiona will remain a board member of Montessori Schools and Centres Australia (MSCA) and Farmhouse Montessori School, and is keen to continue working towards official endorsement of a literacy spelling program as part of the Montessori curriculum, as well contributing to the indigenous Montessori curriculum workbook.

Fiona’s presence will be much missed at Barrenjoey Montessori School. We wish her all the best in this next stage of her journey!
