Enrolment

Interested in joining the Barrenjoey Montessori School community?

We welcome enquiries from all families, including those familiar with Montessori philosophy, or those looking for a supportive school community and an education that nurtures independence and respect throughout the primary years and beyond. To start your family’s Barrenjoey Montessori School journey, follow the steps below.

1. Make an enquiry

Let us know you’re interested by completing the Enrolment Enquiry Form.

2. Tour the school

We’ll send you an invitation for a personalised school tour with our Principal.

3. Join the waitlist

After your school tour, we’ll send you a link inviting you to complete an Application for Enrolment. To join the waitlist, you’ll need to submit this form along with birth certificate and immunisation documents, and payment of the application fee.

4. Attend an interview

When a space becomes available, we’ll invite you in for a pre-enrolment interview with our Principal. If your child is primary-school aged, we’ll ask them to spend some time in the classroom, and we’ll ask you for a copy of their last two school reports. Please note that the pre-enrolment interview does not guarantee placement.

5. Receive an offer

After a successful interview, you’ll receive an Offer of Place and be asked to complete the Personal Information Form and Enrolment Agreement, as well as pay the enrolment fee. This must be completed within 14 days to secure your child’s place.

6. Welcome and orientation

Once you’ve accepted the Offer of Place, we’ll send you an email to confirm enrolment and welcome your family to the Barrenjoey Montessori School community!

What we consider when making an Offer of Place

  • Intention to complete the primary program.

  • Siblings already enrolled in the primary program.

  • A child’s age at the time a space becomes available.

  • BMS Under 3s playgroup attendance.

  • Whether a child is transferring from a closely aligned Montessori school.

  • Family commitment to the BMS community.

  • The Disability Standards for Education Act 2005.
